Combining the elegance of the past with modern comfort

Context

The Anglo American Hotel, opened in 1892, is a true historical gem of the city. Located in the heart of Florence, this iconic hotel required a transformation to regain its former splendour.

This ambitious project beautifully combines the preservation of architectural heritage with the standards of a contemporary 5-star hotel. Thanks to this successful renovation, the Anglo American Hotel becomes the first Florentine hotel to join the prestigious Curio Collection by Hilton, restoring all its splendour to this exceptional place.

Our work

Commissioned as general contractor, our teams led the entire renovation of the 7,500 m² Anglo American Hotel, including:

  • Rooms: creation of 120 rooms, some of which are duplexes or suites.
  • Common areas: reception hall and lobby.
  • Bar and restaurant.
  • Meeting rooms.
  • Courtyard on the ground floor.
  • Gym.
  • Kitchens.
  • Staff rooms.
  • Technical rooms.

Due to its location in the historic center of Florence and the architectural value of the place, our teams were able to work on:

  • Structural reinforcement of historic floors.
  • Recovery and reinforcement of original vaults.
  • Recovery and enhancement of original stucco decorations.
  • Restoration of the entrance glass canopy.
  • Recovery and restoration of original marble and parquet floors.
  • Compliance with local regulations specific to the historic center of Florence.
  • Obtaining special permits required due to the hotel’s location.

Finally, our teams ensured complete project coordination, including:

  • Project management: supervising all project phases, while respecting the set deadlines and budgets.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders: working closely with the architect, art director, project manager and local authorities to ensure compliance with standards and client expectations.
  • Monitoring: maintaining smooth communication with all stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and optimal quality.
